The following letter was sent to the "Letter to the editor of the Record Courier" on August 18th, 2008 and never published, why?

"Dear Editor:

Should he get elected,  I was wondering if Douglas County should be concerned about Greg Lynn’s drunk driving conviction.  Greg had two arrests in Alpine County (Docket Numbers M18434 Arrest 01/07/01 and dismissal 11/13/2001 and Docket Number M19682 Arrest and conviction 5/3/2002 and completion of sentence 4/9/2003.)

Greg has just won the Republican primary election for commissioner from District 1, and he will probably be elected in the general election.  We should encourage our potential commissioners to be a good role model for our children, in both their actions and their honesty.  I feel that Greg Lynn  owes the public a reassurance and explanation that his past substance abuse mistakes are not a current concern and will not interfere with his ability to perform as commissioner.   He is applying for one of the most important jobs in our county.

B. Evans"

Is the Record Courier playing favorites?  Why did the Sheriffs Union endorse a man who has had arrests for Driving while intoxicated and at least one conviction?

Do you believe this is relevant? Mr. Lynn's signs issue these statements.

Committed - To whom? The development community, not the citizens of Douglas County.

Common-sense - Drinking and driving when over 55 years of age.

Competence - Who is selling his model home and probably having financial problems in his personal company?

Do we want a commissioner with all this baggage?
